July 28th River Song delivered 5 hoglets. They are all doing well and I will begin to contact people on mt waiting list. It is still early to tell, but it looks as if we have two high white, masked pintos, Two low white grey pintos, and one low pinto, possibly a silver or cinnamon. I will charge $250 for the high whites and grey pintos, and I will monitor the other one to see what color she turns out to be and I will tell her price biased on that.
If you have been waiting longer than last November please recontact me, my computer crashed and deleted many of my older emails and data. Please specify how long you have been waiting and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Pictures are coming soon. *Please note: one cannot tell the final color of a hedgehog until their final quilling when they are around 9 months old. I can predict what color they will be, but they might still surprise us. HedgehogsI am planning on breeding Radigast with Korra and with River Song. These babies will be born around June. If you are not on my list right now it is not likely that we will have any hedgehogs that are not claimed. I will try to post updates and will let you know if a hedgehog is available. Holland LopsClover was bred for spring babies, but she did not take. We will be re-breeding her within the next week or so for summer babies. We are expecting show quality stock from her, pedigreed and hand held since day one. These bunnies have puppy personalities and can be trained if one desires.
We currently have only two people on my list for Hollands. Peek-A-Boo has been showing signs of pregnancy but has not had a litter yet. If she does not have any babies within the next few weeks I will re-breed her.
Radigast the Brown is currently visiting River Song, she will be expecting a litter around January 15th we are expecting flashy pintos and possibly snowflakes in this litter. If you are not on my waiting list please do not hound me about babies. I am aware that there has not been a litter in a while, but hedgehog are extremely temperamental and even a slight change in temperature can lead to an unsuccessful litter. I am as anxious about babies as you are, so please be aware of that as well
She is showing signs of having a litter soon, but no babies yet. She is a first time mother so it is very likely that her litter will not turn out.
We bred Peek-A-Boo to Radigast this last weekend, we area expecting babies around Christmas. If this is successful they will be ready to go around mid January
Our darling Pipkin has some unfortunate news. He has epilepsy which could be genetic. We found this out a little after we bought him, and he seems to have grown out of it for the most part, but we will wait and see if he does just in case if it is genetic. If he grows out of it we will breed him and keep a watchful eye on his babies. We may get a pedigreed stud for Clover so we will still have litters.
We have decided to sell our former breeder Toothbrush to a nice family in Southern Utah. She would rather be a spoiled pet than a mother. She loves to be taken outside and pampered. Her new family has named her Toothbrush-Magic because she has a magical twinkle in her eye. She is happy and gets to play in their garden often.
I had some debate about what my logo would be for the website. I decided on a couple of illustrations from the original Alice in Wonderland book. For the Alice's Hedgehogs pages it depicts Alice holding a flamingo as a croquet racket. Near Alice's feet there are a couple of hedgehogs used as croquet balls by the queen of hearts.
